Pizza Swirls

Taking inspiration from one of my favorite cooking YouTube channels 'Sorted Food' -(Their Twitter) I created these gorgeous pizza swirls. I'd recommend checking out their channel, it's full of impressive food, laughs and fun, you'll find yourself flicking through all their videos captivated by the mouthwatering food!
They'd be perfect for a bake sale, lunch or just to impress your family - mine were all gone within a few hours! These are simple to make and delicious.

Onto the recipe...- Makes 20

  • 3 gloves of garlic
  • Fresh/dried basil
  • Lots of grated Parmesan or any cheese you desire
  • Green or Black olives - or any pizza topping e.g Pepperoni, ham, mozzarella.
1.Dissolve the yeast into a small amount of warm water.
2. Put the flour, salt and oil into a mixing bowl.
3. Pour the yeast liquid and water into the bowl and knead for 10 mins (tiring work!) until the dough is elastic.
4. Leave the dough to prove for an hour in a warm room.
5. Peel and crush the garlic and fry with some olive oil for a minute.
6. Add the tomato and basil.
7. Heat the sauce and allow it to simmer for 15 minutes to reduce.
8. If the sauce is not thick enough add a small amount of corn starch paste.
9. Chill the sauce
10. Roll out the dough into a thin rectangle.
11. Spread the tomato sauce over it and add your desired topping, in this case I added green olives.
12. Sprinkle a generous amount of cheese over it.
13.Roll the dough into a sausage shape with lots of spiral layers inside.
14. Cut across the dough so it is 2cm thick.
15. Put them on a baking tray, well spread apart, for 30 minutes and leave them in a warm place to prove again.
16. Preheat an oven to 200°C/ 400F/Gas Mark 6
17. Bake for 15 minutes until they look golden
